Home Comforts
This is a rearranged fixture following Storm Arwen putting paid to the last attempt at getting this game played before Xmas.
Redcar sit one place above us in the league, with 1 point seperating us, we have almost identical records but crucially Redcar have scored more points, though we have conceded less. This promises to be another close game
Redcar have taken 3 wins so far, all home wins over Whitby, Barnard Castle and Ryton, so they visit looking for their first away victory. Both Sides no doubt with something to prove as the season approaches the end
Sedgie of course will be buoyed by last weeks morale boosting bonus point win over Ashington, which took us off the bottom of the league and will be hoping to take another win and climb out of the bottom 2 for the first time this season.
We are gutted not to be able to put the Saxons out again, maybe the 6 nations starting has taken a few lads away from us but hopefully next week we will get them back out again.
Team News
Sedgie have kept faith with the majority of the side from last weeks win over Ashington, but we have a few injuries to contend with, Brennan is restored to the loosehead following an injury to Dan Lawson, James Allison gets his chance at hooker and Tom Ducker completes a mobile but powerful front row. Pedro Gray continues in the second row and Andy Broere comes in for the unavailable Dan Martin. The back row is also unchanged with Paul McCormack, Will Johnson and Massimo Impagliazzo completing the pack.
Tom Flatters continues at number 9 and Phil Dawson is given the nod at fly half. John Pope returns in place of Terry Cook in the centre to partner Lawrence Oliver and again, the back three is unchanged with Ryan Towler, Andy Shepherd on the wings and Andy Fife at full back.
Our finishers are strong again with Michael Bishop returning to cover the front five along with Lewis White and Dom Ryan - all are capable of turning the game once they get on the field.
James Watson is on standby to cover any issues or last minute drop outs.
The six nations also starts this weekend so we should be able to get off in time to watch Scotland V England on the tellybox!
