Saxons back on centre stage
With the 1sts laid fallow this week ahead of the local derby with Darlington, the Saxons take centre stage with a visit to Richmondshire in the TVSL this weekend. We were all buoyed by news of a 26 - 5 win for the Saxons last week and we will see how they fair against Richmond in only their 3rd run out of the season. The playing record shows played one lost one so far so hopefully a good result will see us make further progress up the league.
Team News
The usual hunt for players is ongoing but the makings of a quality line up for the Saxons despite more than 50 of our playing membership either away, injured or shopping! I still puzzle over why lads don't play as often as they can but I guess its just the way of the world in 2021.
No Captain Reilly this week so Graham Brennan is handed the captaincy, the final make up of the squad will be decided closer to the time.
Covering our forwards, Michael Bishop, Neil Hetherington, Bobby Blackburn, Graham Brennan, Michael Jackaman, Andy Broere, Ian Storey, Ben Norris and Pedro Gray
Our back line will be selected from Lee Keillor, Jonathan Castling, Terry Cook, Lewis White, Alex Skuse and Andy Fife
We are waiting on a few more to confirm but our confident we can find one or 2 more to add to the line up
